After battling with various infirmities and dealing with excruciating pain resulting from a compressed nerve beside her spine these past few years, Shirley A. Moreno (Tuccio), of Burlington, passed away on March 12, 2026


She is survived by her husband, Patrick A. Moreno of Malden MA, Mother of Son, Paul Moreno and his wife Linda of Salem, NH and their two children Angela and Paul Moreno, Jr., step granddaughter Jillian, and great-granddaughter, Bailey. Mother of Daughter Kristen and her husband David Guarino of Methuen, MA and their children Joseph and Matthew, and her sister Joanne Cincotti of Burlington, MA.


She was predeceased by her parents, Philip Tuccio and Virginia (Fucci) Tuccio, sister Pauline (Tuccio) Milioti of Rockland, MA, brother Phillip, Jr., Flagler Beach, FL, and her brother-in-law, Nicholas Cincotti.


She leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Born June 13, 1940, raised and educated in Waltham, MA. After she married, she and husband made their home in Burlington, MA for more than 65years. While raising a family and working full time at Raytheon Company for 27 years, she achieved an Associate in Science Degree with High Honors before retiring in 2002.


Shirley and her husband enjoyed traveling to China, Africa, Western and Eastern Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda, Scandinavian Countries, Caribbean Islands, toured the USA Western National Parks, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Montreal, Quebec, and many other parts of Canada as well as weekend getaways around New England.


For 12 years she enjoyed playing golf at the Billerica Country Club Women's Golf League, member and officer of a Burlington Bowling League, a volunteer member of the Burlington Reserve and Medical Corps, active member of the Burlington Sons of Italy holding various official positions, and a Charter Member of the Burlington Volunteer Police Academy.


She also enjoyed playing tennis, bocce, painting with acrylics, reading and gardening. Volunteered at two elementary school libraries in Burlington, MA and was a teacher's aide for reading. Also involved with Burlington's Council of Aging enjoying fellow seniors' camaraderie, participating in the board game room, playing Bingo, attending various functions, exercise classes and movies. Enjoyed good conversations and making new friends. She always said friends are better than medicine.


Time spent with her grandchildren was her fondest memories. Accompanying them to the beach, movies, lunch, museums, sleepovers, etc. Just being together, enjoying each other's company and witnessing them turning into young adults.


Visiting hours at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA will be 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret's Church in St. Veronica's Parish, 111 Winn Street, Burlington, MA at 10AM Monday, March 16, 2026, Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be at The Versailles Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett, MA 02149 immediately following mass. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation at www.parkinson.org
