Lina E. Chinappi Obituary
Lina E. Chinappi of Billerica passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 18th. She was 68 years old. She gave her all to a long, strong battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph R. Chinappi, whom she shared 40 years of marriage with prior to his passing.
They are survived by their 3 children, Tom Chinappi & his wife Kristi of Dracut, Juliane Chinappi and her longtime love Gregg Bannister of Wilmington, Amy Coppola & husband Anthony of Billerica; their 4 grandchildren, Jordan and Kendall Chinappi, Simone Bannister and Nicholas Coppola. Lina’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Lina was born June 14th 1957, she was the only daughter of the late Warren P. Ganley and Edwina (Marvin) Ganley. She was deeply loved by her 5 brothers Warren Ganley of NH, Ernie Ganley of Ma, Tom Ganley of Fl, George Ganley of Ky and Scott Ganley of NH, as well as her loving sister in laws, her dear nieces and nephews, beloved friends and coworkers.
Lina worked for the town of Billerica for decades. She was a cafeteria worker at the Marshall middle school and took pride in being the “cool lunch lady”.
Lina could be found calmly strolling through her yard, admiring her flowers & rock gardens. Sitting on her deck soaking in the sun and birdwatching. She loved to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. An annual highlight for her was “The Ganley Family Outing”. If you were lucky, you received a treasured afghan she crocheted herself with love. In her later years, she enjoyed trips to Vermont with her friend Tom Bean.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to a local veteran’s charity or you can choose to plant a tree in her memory. Services will be private and at a later date.
