Obituary of Tracy Batten

Tracy W. Batten, a resident of Burlington for 43 years and retired owner of Tracy's Auto Service in Woburn, passed away at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Monday evening, December 4, 2006. The husband of Ann C. (McLaughlin) he was 78 years old. Tracy was born in Cambridge. He was the son of the late Robert and Hazel Batten. He was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of Somerville Vocational School where he majored in mechanics. Tracy served his country in the United States Marine Corps during he Korean War where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Tracey was the owner of Tracy's Auto Service in Woburn from 1960 until his retirement at the age of 62 in 1990. The family tradition continued with his son Tracy taking over the business. Tracy looked forward to spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee where he and his wife Ann had a home at South Down Shores in Laconia. While at the Lake he enjoyed boating and spending time with his three grandsons. Tracy is the beloved husband of Ann C. (McLaughlin). He is the loving father of Kathy & her husband Robert Willis of North Reading and Tracy M. & his wife Laura of Westford. He is the brother of Robert of CA, Frank of Woburn and Hazel Greenfield of CA. He is the grandfather of James Willis of North Reading, Christopher and Michael Batten of Westford. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Tracy's name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
