Obituary of Thomas Lee Bowes

Thomas Lee Bowes, 65, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, Nh, on Sunday, March 10. He was born in Malden the son of Francis and Gladys (Fewtrell) Bowes. Thomas was employed as a service representative at Colonial Volkswagen in Medford for 20 years.

Thomas had a profound love of the sea, which he expressed through his passion for cruising. With an adventurous spirt he, and his life partner Daniel Lemieux, embarked on many cruises throughout his lifetime, relishing the freedom of the open waters. Thomas and Daniel visited Russia, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda multiple times sailing with Royal Caribbean as diamond plus members. They both enjoyed on and off shore excursions, the tasteful culinary confections and meals aboard, the never-ending entertainment and shows offered, and just kicking up their feet and relaxing together as much as possible brought never ending joy to Thomas.

Closer to home, Thomas found solace and happiness along the seaside in Ogunquit, Maine. He could often be found strolling along the coastline with his beloved dogs, Velcro, Summit and Shadow, creating lasting connections with the homeowners in the area who admired his warmth and friendliness. A dedicated supporter of the arts, Thomas was proud patron of the Ogunquit Playhouse, where he found delight in music and live theater.

Thomas had a heart full of generosity and admiration, especially for Sally Struthers, who he admired greatly. He expressed his admiration by periodically sending her flowers, a gesture that reflected his kind and thoughtful nature.

In addition to his love for the sea and the arts, Thomas enjoyed exploring the beauty of New England. He cherished trips to the White Mountains, indulged in shopping excursions at the outlet shops in Maine and found tranquility in the scenic charm of Newport Rhode Island all with his beloved dog Shadow.

He is survived by his life partner of over 34 years, Daniel F. Lemieux of Nashua, his mother, Gladys Bowes, his siblings, Jeffrey Bowes of Derry, NH and Debra Bowes of Burlington, his nephews Jesse Bowes and Jason Bowes as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and innumerable friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, March 23, from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. A funeral home service will follow the visitation at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Ogunquit Play House Organization at www.ogunquitplayhouse.org
