Obituary of James Gary Nevins
James Gary Nevins, a retired Quality Assurance Engineer passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon March 11, 2016, while on his daily walk. He was 62 years old.
James was born in Boston. He grew up in Burlington and was a 1971 graduate of Burlington High School. He attended Boston University and graduated from Northeastern University with Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He started his career at RCA in Burlington and had worked at General Electric, and AVCO before settling in with IBM. He worked at IBM’s Westford and Cambridge facilities as a Quality Assurance Engineer. He retired several years ago.
James was the type of person who had routines that he enjoyed following. For exercise, he enjoyed swimming and walking. He was returning from a walk from Marshall’s department store when he took ill on Friday. He was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up with computer technology. He loved watching old movies. Lake Winnipesaukee was a very special place for James. He grew up spending his summers on Black Cat Island, boating, waterskiing, hiking, and enjoying time spent with family and friends.
James was the beloved son of Mabel (Rose) Nevins of Burlington and the late James Nevins. Brother of Steven of Beverly, and Paul & his wife Eleanor of Portsmouth, NH. Uncle of Morgan of Baltimore, MD, Travis of Portsmouth, NH, and Rachel of Ipswich. Funeral services will be private.
