Obituary of Christopher Mitza
Christopher Joseph Mitza of Burlington, formerly of Medford, passed away from a heroin overdose after a long battle with drug addiction on Friday, March 11, 2016.
He was 34 years old. Chris grew up in Medford and was a graduate of Medford Vocational High School. He was an avid sports fan and played hockey as a youth. He was a very talented woodworker and happy to assist around the house with projects. One of Chris’s greatest days was when he was asked to be the Godfather to his niece Greta, whom he shared a special bond. Chris also loved animals, especially his dog, Abbie. He struggled all throughout his adult life from drug addiction, with his family constantly trying to help him overcome those addictions but to no avail. Throughout it all his family loved him deeply and prayed for him to find peace.
Christopher was the beloved son of Joanne (White) and Joseph Mitza, Jr of Burlington. He was the loving brother of Joseph Mitza, III & his wife Elizabeth of Burlington. He was the most fun loving, caring uncle and Godfather of Greta Mitza of Burlington. He was the special nephew of Patricia “Patty” White of Burlington. Christopher was also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. If you have any loved one’s who are fighting addiction. Chris’s family asks that you do everything possible to be supportive and guide them to rehabilitation before it is too late.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at Noon.
