Obituary of Arthur Proulx

Arthur L. Proulx, a resident of Burlington 45 years, passed away at the Lexington Health Care Center, on Monday afternoon, March 26, 2007. The husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Wylie), he was 76 years old. Arthur was born in Cambridge. He was raised and educated in Cambridge and Arlington. He attended Rindge Tech. in Cambridge and graduated from Arlington High School. He earned his airplane mechanic’s license from East Coast Aero Tech. He also enjoyed taking classes at Middlesex Community College. Arthur was a Veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 – 1955. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed as a Mechanical Technician for 30 years at Tech/Ops and Amsham Companies, which manufactured industrial x- ray machines. He also owned A & M Laundry in Billerica for 12 years. Arthur was well known in the town of Burlington for his popular bus trips to Foxwoods, which he had been scheduling for the last 12 years. His last trip to Foxwoods was just two weeks ago. He was a member of the Burlington Council on Aging where he enjoyed many friendships. He was an avid card player at the Center and frequented many of the luncheons and social gatherings. Arthur was a member of the AMVETS Post 79 in Natick. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifetime member of the Woburn Sportsman’s Club. He was also a member of the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Arthur was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Wylie) Proulx of Burlington. He was the loving father of Michael Proulx of Burlington, Ellen Ferguson of Burlington, and Phyllis Proulx of Billerica. He was the son of Irene Proulx of Woburn and the late Philip and brother of Janet Pierce of Burlington, Marie Cullen of Woburn, and the late Francis and Donald Proulx. He was the proud grandfather of Jessica, Sarah, David, and Jed Ferguson all of Burlington. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, March 29 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Arthur’s name may be made to St. Margaret’s Building Fund, 111 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803.
