I worked with Bob for many years at CCHS. So many of my students, who refused help from other professionals, would go to him. For him, the students always came first, and he made it possible for so many of them to complete high school, ready to move on to college or a career. He was a gentle, loving man and I think gave many students a new appreciation of how a man could be gentle and also strong. He also was a great help to me during a time when I was experiencing trouble. I was so sorry to hear of his death, and of Nancy's. They had certainly earned many years of relaxation.

Thinking of you Rob, as I have been for several weeks, wondering if you spent the winter in NC. I know that this year without Nancy was so very sad for you. I pray that your suffering is over and that you rest in peace. Your boys had wonderful, inspirational parents and I know you will be missed by all. Love Claudia

Bob was a very dear colleague of mine at cchs. The kids lined up at his door year in and year out..he had a way of holding them and loving them that was unique. He w as gifted. We often talked of his boys and his brother. Wife and parents.always with love and reverence for what was most important.
He died too young...thanks for all your years of devotion to teens. God bless.

So sad to hear of the passing of this sweet and loving man. I have many happy memories of working with Bob in the decade before his retirement, and of course, memories of Matt and Brent making their way through the hallways of CCHS. He made a unique contribution of compassion to all who knew him. My deepest condolences to you all, including his brother Murray, about whom Bob spoke with such love so many times!
Love,
Kelli Kirshtein

Bob was a beloved colleague at CCHS. He counseled students and colleagues alike with compassion, love, and humor. He always greeted you with a warm smile and and twinkle in his eye. I valued his wisdom, his wit, and his generosity. He always remembered what really matters -- loving, supportive relationships, balance, and a healthy mind and body. I miss him very much. My condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.

Bob was a mentor and a kind face during the early years of my career when those things matter most of all. He was a gentle, good man who always had time to help others, and whose effect on so many students and teachers over the years is incalculable.

Dear Brent and Matt, My name is Pauline and I was your Mom's hairdresser for many years. She was a trusted friend who I cherished and loved. As her illness progressed we had some very special time together. In that time I got to know your beloved dad. What a wonderful man. There devotion to each other was so vivid and seeing the love they shared was a blessing. He was so devoted to her. I checked in with him at the holidays and we had a nice chat. Although it is very sad that he is no longer with us I am comforted in kowing that they have been reunited again. They both spoke so highly of each of you and were so proud being your parents. Please know that you will all be in my prayers and they both will remain in my heart forever. Sending my love

Bob was a sweet, loving, empathetic presence at CCHS and a man who helped those he knew in a variety of ways. He was the type of person who could improve your day simply by interacting with you. He cared about people and it showed. He would ask you how you were doing, listen to you intently, laugh gently, and make you feel better about yourself. He never took himself or any of the things happening at school or even in his life too seriously and I remember him responding to difficulty with tremendous poise and equanimity.
I will miss Bob even though I haven't seen him for several years now. I feel lucky to have known him and to have had the opportunity to have been around him on a daily basis for many years. He was a kind, thoughtful, and gentle man. I know that he will be missed intensely by those who were close to him but he also leaves a hole in the lives of those who knew him professionally and socially as I did through the later years of his career.
You were much loved and respected Bob. Your legacy remains through all of those you helped and who knew you.

I was so very saddened to hear of Bob's passing this weekend. He was a very dear and special colleague and mentor of mine at CCHS. His kind, gentle and loving spirit was a gift to the students, faculty and staff at CCHS. His office was never empty...students flocked to him for love, support, guidance and refuge from their troubles. While other colleagues went about the business of educating students, Bob was in the business of saving their souls...and, sometimes, their lives. There must be countless CCHS students whose lives are better for having known Bob. Bob affectionately spoke often of his beloved Nancy, his boys (who I remember as students at CC), his brother, his parents and other family members. He had a big heart full of love for all of you. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to visit with him when Henry Damon brought him for a brief tour of the new CCHS shortly after Nancy passed. I'm glad I had a chance to get one last hug from him. Please know that I'm holding all of you in my prayers - hoping that someday you can take some comfort knowing there were so many who loved Bob.
