Obituary of Robert Magro

Robert “Harry the Hat” Magro a notable personality in Revere’s music scene, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday morning, February 12, 2012. He was 80 years old. Harry had an outgoing personality, a flair for style, and a love of country music which made prominent in the clubs and lounges in the Revere area. He was a member of several bands including “Bernie and the Group” where he sang and played guitar. He also had a quick wit and always a funny story to tell. He loved entertaining and being the center of attention. His full time job was that of automobile salesman. He also owned several horses which he raced at Suffolk Downs. He was a past member of the Elks in Revere. Harry had a large family whom he cherished. Harry shined when he was sharing a tale, playing a song, or just making his family smile. He was lovingly called “Pucka” by all his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as their friends. Harry was the loving father of Kenneth Quinn of Lowell, Helen Donadio of Woburn, Harry Magro of FL, Gloria “Terry” Phelan of Tewksbury, Paul Magro of FL, and Regina Salinas of SC. He was predeceased by his siblings; Helen Turco, Richard & William Magro. He was the Uncle Harry to Jackie Roy, Dee Dee Waite, Kathy Lawson, Edmund Eon, and John Eon. Harry was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will end the visitation at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
