Obituary of Donald Gibb

Donald Gibb went to be with the Lord he loved on May 3, 2016. He was born in Waltham MA to the late James W. Gibb and Dorothy Sterritt Gibb and grew up in Belmont MA. After graduating from Belmont High, Donald attended Bob Jones University for a degree in Business. He joined the United States Air Force, served in the Korean Conflict, and was awarded three medals. After his discharge, he met his sweetheart at a Bible conference in Stony Brook, NY and soon joined Tucker, Anthony & R. L. Day in Boston where he worked 46 years as a statistician. Christian service was important to Donald and he shared his talents leading the singing, recording the sermons, serving as treasurer and faithfully caring for the tract display at Countryside Bible Chapel. After his retirement, he had time for his hobbies of gardening, feeding birds and studying God's Word. Donald is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 60 years, and seven children: Sandra (Lance) Oaks, Diane (Robert) Carver, David (Bonnie) Gibb, Lois (Mark) Christopher, Martha (David) Sykes, Ruth (Tim) Cadigan, Jonathan (Jessica) Gibb; nine grandchildren: Daniel, Mark, Lea, James, Rachel, Kasey, Sarah, Rebekah, Dylan, and three great-grandchildren; Rowan, Connor and Wesley. Also survived by Malcolm (Elizabeth) Gibb and sister Barbara (Gibb) Feely After a family burial in Belmont, friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, May 7 at 2:30 pm for a memorial service at Countryside Bible Chapel, 480 Lowell Street, Lexington, MA 02420. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donald's name to Gideons International whose mission is to share free copies of the Bible.
