Obituary of Wayne Ericson

Wayne R. Ericson, of Ashburnham, formerly of Woburn where he still held strong ties with family and friends, passed away at the Heywood Hospital on Monday morning, February 20, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Shultz) for 53 great years. He was 72 years old. To know Wayne was to love him. He was best known for his sense of humor. Making people laugh was his greatest pleasure. He was the owner of Glass East & Mirror in Tewksbury for over 30 years until his recent retirement due to illness. If you were starting up in the business Wayne was there to help and guide you. Many people enjoyed visiting him to talk about business and seek advice. His family and friends mementos filled his walls, especially those of Soupy Smith, his friend for 55 years. There never was a more loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, worker or just a mere acquaintance. Family was so important. His grandchildren and great-grandbabies were the most important things in the world to him. He attended plays, birthdays, christenings, and Grandparents Day at school whenever he had the chance. Papa was “always there.” He filled their hearts with love and his heart was full of pride. Over the years he enjoyed camping with his children, teaching them to drive and planning their weddings. Memories of Christmas, birthdays, and family functions, especially July 4th cookouts were all filled with love. His greatest joy was “Date Night” with his wife Ann of 53 years. Wayne was a member of Moose Lodge as well as the V.F.W. Sadly, he was hospitalized for over a month but he touched many lives until his passing on February 20th. He will be missed by all. Jr. & his wife Roberta of Wilmington, Cheryle Ann Pergamo & her husband William of Gardner, Keith& his wife Michelle of Woburn, Tracy White & her husband Scott of Gardner and Danielle Sargent & her husband Jamie of Orange.
