Obituary of Thomas Tinker

Thomas N. Tinker, of Haverhill, MA, passed away at just 58 years old, after a brief illness on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Tom was born in Tampa, Florida, the son of Thomas and Shirley Tinker of Sun City Center, FL. He grew up in Land O' Lakes and was a graduate of Chamberlain High School and University of South Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. As an Electrical Engineer and a Sr. Printed Circuit board Designer at Raytheon, he worked on Patriot Missile Defense Systems and a variety of projects that required top security clearance. He was a cowboy who wore his Stetson hat, cowboy boots, big belt buckle, loved country music, and had a supersized truck, he called “Big Red”. He enjoyed guns, skeet shooting as a member of the Andover Sportsmen's Club. He was an avid fresh water fisherman. As a child living in Florida, before it became illegal, he had pet snapping turtles and alligators. He was big in stature, loved the outdoors, and had a special place at Sunset Park Campground. He had great loyalty and love for his family and friends. Tom was the loving fiancé of Karen (Bemis) Wyatt of Haverhill, formerly of Billerica, MA. He was the loving father of Thomas Tinker, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Whitney Mallios & her husband Jordan of Austin,TX, and Channing Laing & her husband Michael of Tampa, FL. He was the brother of Kevin Tinker of Riverview, FL and Karen Emanuel of Ruskin, FL. He was the future stepfather of Heather and Jonathan Wyatt. He was the proud grandfather of Cameron, Conner, Cadyn, Jameson, and Madison. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Tom’s family at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Friday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 at the funeral home.
