Obituary of Sonia Parks

Sonia Elizabeth (Galleguillos) Parks, a woman who loved her family, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016. She was 56 years old. Sonia was born in Winchester and grew up and was educated in Burlington. After high school she moved to New Jersey for a time before returning to Woburn, Massachusetts 19 years ago. She worked at KOHLS and Target as a clerk for many years. She enjoyed making blankets. She shared the hobby of restoring furniture and gardening with her husband Charlie. She loved entertaining and hosted countless backyard barbeques. She and Charlie shared the love of motorcycles and well known for their trike which they traveled all over New England, New York and numerous trips to Myrtle Beach. She loved to laugh and her grandchildren gave her so much joy! Sonia was the loving wife of Charles A. Parks. She was the loving mother of Roxan Arnold & her husband Daniel of Alaska, Karen Parks of Woburn, the late Lea Marie Ross. Stepmother of Charles Parks, Jr. & his wife Jen, Gary and Allen Parks all of NJ. Daughter of Alicia (Naranjo) Flores of Woburn and late Rudolph Galleguillos. Sister of Rudy Galleguillos of San Francisco, CA, Albert Galleguillos of Burlington, Tricia Martin of PA, Rita Race of Billerica, the late Frances Galleguillos and Jane Huggins. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Evan Henggeler, Paige Arnold, Xander Arnold, Luke Parks and Ethan Matuzsan. Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, July 2 at 2:30 p.m. There will be visiting hours at the funeral home Saturday from Noon to 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
