Obituary of Martin Berg
Martin W. Berg passed away on Friday evening, April 6, 2007. The beloved husband of 54 years of Barbara (Sheppard) Berg, he was 76 years old.
Mr. Berg was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late William Berg and Syliva Gsida. He is stepson of the late Lawrence Gsida Mr. Berg was raised and educated in Chicago. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Navy. He was the recipient of the Naval Occupation Service Medal. He was employed for 31 years as a Master Electrician at MIT Lincoln Labs in Bedford. Mr. Berg lived in Burlington for 40 years where he was an active part of the community. He was a member of the Burlington Baseball Association where he coached for many years as well as held the position of the Equipment Manager. He was a proud member of the Mason’s in Burlington. Mr. Berg and his wife moved to Londonderry, NH nine years ago to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Martin was the beloved husband of 54 years of Barbara (Sheppard). He is the loving father of William Berg of Litchfield, NH and Donna Podziewski & her husband Chip of Londonderry, NH. He is the son of the late William Berg and Sylva (Mayhew) Gsida. He is the stepson of the late Lawrence Gsida. He is the brother of the late Beatrice (Anderson) Stillwell. He is the brother-in-law of Doris & her husband Bradford Ogren of Burlington. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLNGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, April 14 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 185 Lake St., Peabody. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
