Obituary of Regina DiPerna

Regina A. (Alfeiri) DiPerna, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, on Thursday morning, August 25, 2016, after a courageous battle with ALS. The beloved wife of the late Thomas C., she was 81 years old. Regina was born, raised and educated in Somerville. She was the youngest of 7 children born to the late Domenic and Catherine Alfeiri. Regina and Tom attended the same high school, were in the same graduating class and had friends in common but it wasn’t until they were out of School and Tom was in the service that they started dating. They had wonderful life together and had just celebrated 50 years of marriage when Tom passed away in 2011. With Regina had a wonderful career in the Insurance Industry working for American Mutual and Hastings Tapley. She loved to read, the ocean, music and talking with friends and family. Regina and Tom always looked forward to their annual weekend in the White Mountains with their close friends. Her life centered around her family. She was a supportive wife and mother. She loved family gatherings and holidays. Being one of 7 children brought a large extended family into her life with many nieces and nephews. Regina’s greatest happiness in recent years was being “Nonna” to her granddaughter Sarah who brought immense joy to her life. Regina was the beloved wife of the late Thomas C. DiPerna. She was the loving mother of Mark DiPerna of Woburn and Sharon DiPerna-Bouffard & her spouse Renee Bouffard of Billerica. Proud and devoted “Nonna” of Sarah Bouffard. Sister of the late Eleanor Haggerty, Doris Domings, Claire Abbott, and James, Gerald & Louis Alfeiri. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Monday, Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
