Obituary of Pamela A. Carlquist

Pamela A. (Byers) Carlquist, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016. The beloved wife of 43 Years of William M. Carlquist, she was 62 years old. Pam was born, raised and educated in Tionesta, PA. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Edna Buyers. After high school Pam went onto further her education receiving her Bachelor’s degree at Jamestown Business College in Jamestown, NY. It was there that Pam would meet fellow student Bill Carlquist. They married at the age of 19. Pam and Bill lived in Jamestown when they were first married. It was while living in Jamestown that they were blessed with the birth of their three sons; Jason, Joshua and Jeremy. Bill’s career led him to live in different states throughout the years. After Jamestown they lived in Poughkeepsie, NY for 14 years and then the lived in New Orleans, Denver and back to Poughkeepsie. They moved to Burlington in 2001. Pam and Bill enjoyed traveling and had visited such destination s as Wyoming and South Dakota as well as taking trips back to Pam’s home in Tionesta, PA to visit family. Pam worked as a Social Worker for 20 years. Most recently she had worked as Business Office Manager at Bridges by EPOCH in Westford. She loved he job at Epic and made many friendships. Pam had great love for her family. They were the center of her life. She was blessed to have four grandchildren who were an important part of her life. She loved to visit the beach most especially Hampton Beach and Old Orchard. It gave her great pleasure just to enjoy the sunshine of the day, the ocean waves and “people watch”. Pam had an outgoing personality. She wasn’t one to keep her thoughts to herself – she would tell you how she felt. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Pam and Bill had a wonderful marriage and would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on October 20th. Pam was the beloved wife of William M. Carlquist. She was the loving mother of Jason & his fiancé Lisa Hogan of Burlington, Joshua & his wife Sarah of Rhinebeck, NY and Jeremy & his fiancé Angie Moore of Elizville, NY. Pam was the sister of Joy Morrison, Nancy Strickenberger and Tom Byers all of Tionesta, PA. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of Paige & Brooke Carlquist and Zachery & Bradley Hogan. A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 3-6 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Services and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Pam’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
