Hi Elaine:
My sympathies to you and the family..remember you well from the 1952-55 days at Cottage. I think of Matty often and how much he loved the Club and made our years there so wonderful. I have the UCC belt buckle on my work belt and it's nice to know it came from Matty. He was a member of " The Greatest Generation " who stood tall for us and the freedom we enjoy today. Now he goes from strength to strength in God's Eternal Kingdom and reconnects with those who have gone before. It was a privilege to have know Matty.
All the best to you and your family,
Frank Mountcastle '55

We are so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Diane, you always spoke of your father with such love and humor that I'm sorry I never had the chance to meet him. I know he must have been an amazing man. My thoughts are with you, Charlotte, and your other sisters and family. Hold tight to your memories.

On behalf of myself and my sister Joanne, and my deceased father Mort and deceased mother Harriet, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies. Matt was such a wonderful, upbeat person. He had business associations at Cottage Club for so many years with Mort. The Feldman family always had such a good relationship with Matt and his wife Betty, and all the girls. I attend many Princeton football games and as I walk to the game down Roper Lane next to the Cottage Club, I always think of Matt in such positive ways.

The world is a sadder place with Matty gone, but we hope some day to attend one of the fabulous parties he is undoubtedly hosting in Heaven. We love and miss you.

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. I still remember when your dad came to the middle school. The kids were so excited and one of our students ran in to tell me how cool your dad was and that he had actually gotten to shake the hand of a WWII veteran.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Matthew when he and my father were both at Chelmsford Crossing for several years. I admired him for his wonderful, upbeat attitude. He always greeted me with a warm smile, and we shared many nice conversations, in which he told me about his wonderful family and how great his life had been. Even at an advanced age, his beautiful blue eyes and white hair made him very handsome!
My father passed away two years ago, and I hadn't seen Matthew in those two years, but often thought about him. Matthew was a great example of a life well lived, and an inspiration, even in old age. Unfortunately, I cannot attend his services, but wish to send my heartfelt condolences to the family on the loss of such a wonderful man. Please know he will be remembered.
