Obituary of Kathleen 'Claire' O'Regan
Kathleen “Claire” O’Regan, a woman devoted to her family and friends, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday morning, October 14, 2016. She was 80 years old.
Claire was born in Medford, the daughter of Michael and Catherine Burke who emigrated from Galway, Ireland. She was raised in Medford and was a 1953 graduate of Saint Clement High School. She married Michael O’Regan in 1955 and they began their life together in Washington, D.C.. As Mike served in The United States Army Presidential Honor Guard, and Claire worked on staff at The Pentagon. They returned to Medford to start their family, and eventually settled in Burlington in 1963. Claire worked as a secretary at MITRE Corporation and later at The Fox Hill Elementary School until her retirement
Claire was a warm and welcoming person, who enjoyed the company of her family, friends and neighbors. Her home was filled with sounds and bustle of her seven children and their many friends. Their back yard pool was a popular gathering spot for countless neighborhood cookouts, parties, and celebrations.. Claire and Mike summered at their vacation home in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire for more than 20 years, enjoying the beach and ocean while creating lasting memories. Claire was blessed with a large family of loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was especially close with her three sisters Peggy, May and Ann, and her best friend Marylou Binall.

Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
