Obituary of Robert Fantasia
Robert “Bob” Fantasia of Lexington, entered the Lord’s presence Tuesday, October 18, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia J. (Pennacchio), loving father of Kirsten Ahearn & her husband Bill of Andover, Meredith Fantasia of Cambridge, and Carl Fantasia & his wife Caroline of Lexington. He was the proud and adoring grandfather “BobBob” of five grandchildren: Tatum and Natalie of Andover, and Ryan, Nick, and Avery of Lexington. And he was the brother of Brenda Brown of Quincy, Barbara Crimi of Hanson, Linda Roche of Revere and the late Nicholas Fantasia. Bob enjoyed a long and successful career as an engineer in the Pulp and Paper and the Solid Waste/Recycling industries.
Bob and his family enjoyed many vacations in Sanibel Florida, and he and Cynthia loved vacationing in Kennebunkport. He was an active member of Grace Chapel and served as Chairman of the Elder Board, a Sunday School teacher for kids and for adults, and served by his wife’s side for many women’s ministry events. His love for his Lord was strong and deep, and he lived out his faith each day. If one word were to be applied to Bob’s life it would be “encourager.” Many people were impacted by his encouragement and his influence in their lives.
Throughout his illness Bob’s faith never wavered and he continually displayed grace and dignity. “He truly fought the good fight, finished his race, and kept his faith.”(2 Timothy 4:7) His family brought him much joy and his five grandchildren would always bring a big smile to Bob’s face and heart.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Rd., Lexington on Monday, October 24th at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Because Bob loved his Lord and his family first, but all kids and sports were also right at the top of the list: In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Pitching in For Kids, 1 South Market Building, 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02109 www.pitchinginforkids.org Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, BURLINGTON.
