Obituary of Stephen Richard

Stephen Joseph Richard, a National Wakeboard Champion and Motocross competitor, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while returning home from college. He was 19 years old. Stephen was born in Winchester. He grew up in Billerica, Wilmington and North Andover. He graduated the Greater Lawrence Vocational School in Andover in 2006 and was currently attending Central Maine College in Auburn, Maine. Stephen loved to compete and he always wanted to be the best. He had a passion for water skiing and wakeboarding and at the age of 13 he was the National Champion for his age bracket in Wakeboarding. He loved Motocross and won numerous events. He even competed in Ski mobile racing as well. He worked as a mechanic and was always improving and polishing his cars and motorcycle. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his many friends and family. He was they type of person who extended himself to others and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Stephen was the son of Lori Richard & her long time companion Robert DePiano of N. Andover and Robert Richard, Jr. and his fiancée Kimberly Henderson of Wilmington. He leaves behind his brothers Anthony & Jonathan Richard of N. Andover and his longtime girlfriend Maritza Teurell. He is the grandson of Catherine & Richard Romano of Tewksbury and Robert & Janice Richard of Burlington. He is the nephew of Clorinda Romano of Wakefield, Michael & Dr. Annette McDonough of Burlington, James Richard of Dracut, Brenda Anderson of Burlington, Cheryl & Dave Green of Reading, and John Richard of Billerica. He also leaves many cousins and friends. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, April 26 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
