Obituary of Patricia M. Marshall
Patricia M. (DeCelle) Marshall, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Friday morning, November 4, 2016. The beloved wife of the late Charles B. Marshall, who passed away in 2004, she was 93 years old.
Pat was born, raised, and educated in Chazy, New York. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Evelyn DeCelle. Pat and Charles lived briefly in Cambridge before settling in Burlington in 1954 where they raised their 3 children. Pat worked for Sylvania and for many years at Stop and Shop in Lexington, MA however her primary and most cherished role was that of wife and mother. Pat was an independent and active woman. She always found a way to keep busy and was very self-sufficient. Pat enjoyed playing Bingo when it was at the K of C in Burlington. She was an avid reader and liked to crochet. She was very outgoing with many friendships throughout the years. Her husband Charles was very involved in the Marine Corp League and even after his death in 2004 Pat continued to be involved with the group attending their functions and trips.
She was a woman of faith and a longtime parishioner at St. Malachy’s in Burlington. Her faith was a constant in her life as well as her devotion to the Virgin Mary whom she prayed to on a daily basis. After her health began to decline the past year she received communion on a weekly basis. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were an important part of her life. Nothing pleased her grandchildren more than receiving “chocolate treats” from their Grammy whenever they paid her a visit! Although her family mourns her unexpected passing, Pat leaves behind her greatest legacy that of her faith, love, and dedication to her family.
Pat was the beloved wife of the late Charles B. Marshall. Loving mother of Marylou Hunt & her husband Paul of Bedford, NH, Charles & his wife Susan of Keizer, OR and Deborah Proulx & her husband Roland of Manchester, NH.
