Obituary of Margaret Weadick

Margaret Theresa Weadick, a homemaker and nurses aid passed away on Tuesday night, November 8, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill. She was 89 years old. Margaret was born in Somerville, one of five children born to George and Anne Bacon. She grew up and was educated in Woburn. She married Richard Weadick in April of 1951. They purchased their home in Burlington in 1960. While Richard worked as a technician at RCA and as a real estate broker, Margaret managed their home and raised their 6 children. She embraced her role of wife, mother, and homemaker. It was her unselfish devotion and love of her family that defined her. She was always there for her family as babies, children, teenagers, and adults. Always encouraging them, caring for them, and loving them unconditionally. In today’s standards, her modest 3 bedroom cape with only one bathroom for a family of 8 would sound overcrowded, but she made it all work for her family. She was the type of mother who rose before her children, cooked breakfast or fresh bread, and help her children get organized for the day. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and her homemade lasagna, whoopie pies, cakes, and pies were some of her family’s favorite meals and treats. Her kitchen was her favorite room in the house. And as she cooked or cleaned, Margaret often would sing or hum her favorite melodies. She also had her own unique sense of humor. She had funny sayings, quirky comments, and countless one liners that would always bring a smile to your face. There were numerous family summer vacations spent at Bow Lake in New Hampshire. She was so excited with the birth of each grandchild and great grandchild. In her eyes they could do no wrong. Her love for her family was strong, deep, and absolute. They felt her love every day and will carry her love and treasured memories with them. Margaret had great friends and a number of interests as well. She joined with friends in a bowling league and on a women’s adult softball league for many years. She wasn’t the greatest in either sport, but really enjoyed the comradery and friendship she shared with her teammates. She was a member of the Burlington Historical Committee. She was a Cub Scout leader for her sons. She loved to go to Bingo with her girlfriends. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, feeding her birds, and maintaining her flower gardens. She enjoyed her trips to Booth Bay with her husband, Richard, and she really enjoyed being a resident of Burlington for the past 56 years. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Richard A. Weadick, Sr. who passed on in 2015. She was the loving mother of Richard A. Weadick, Jr. & his wife Karen of Tyngsboro, Gary Weadick & his wife Paula of Wilmington, Paul Weadick & his wife Patswee of Burlington, Debra Rollins & her husband David of FL, Donna Weadick & her husband Jeff Caira of Methuen, and the late Bruce Weadick. She was the sister of Mary Cross of Kingston, NH and the late George Bacon, William Bacon, and Elizabeth “Betty” Forest. Margaret was the proud “Nana” of Richard Weadick III, Erika Duarte, Kristle & Ashley Weadick, Erynn Holmes, Ryan Weadick, Jennifer & Kayla Rollins and Thanya Weadick. She was the great grandmother of Emma, Andrew & Isabella Duarte, Ava & Keenan Weadick and Caleb Holmes. Funeral from the Edward V.
