Beverly Ruscak

Obituary of Beverly Ruscak

Beverly was born April 20, 1946 in Cambridge, Ma. to William and Doris Jones. Beverly and her sister Barbara were raised in Waltham, Ma. and graduated from Waltham High School in 1955. Beverly’s late husband, Bryan Ruscak, grew up just a few houses down the street. They began dating when they were both working at the local Stop & Shop, they married in 1967, and a few years later they moved to Burlington to raise their two children Bryan Jr. and Linsdey. As a wife and mother, Beverly’s primary goal in life was to enjoy her family. The house was always filled with love, pets, and Tab. Weekends were filled with movies, restaurants, and countless fun-filled road trips. Summers were spent at the beach in Cape Cod and fishing off the family boat in Bass River. Winters were filled with skiing and shopping in North Conway. And of course, Beverly planned and as many trips to Disney World as the family could afford. Beverly had a genuine, warm, and welcoming personality that made those sharing her company feel appreciated and important. She could strike up a meaningful conversation with anyone; a friend, coworker, neighbor, even a stranger standing in line at the store. By the end of the conversation she would know the person’s whole life story, and have some thoughtful words of wisdom to share. Her sincere interest in the lives of others enabled her to maintain long-lasting and meaningful friendships. Once you were Beverly’s friend, you were always Beverly’s friend. Naturally, Beverly had a lot of friends with whom she enjoyed many activities such as craft fairs, flower shows, and of course shopping. Beverly could shop for hours. Up and down every isle, touching every product, reading every description, looking for the best deal, and figuring out who she could give it to that would enjoy it the most. Beverly’s thoughtful, fun, and youthful personality served her well in her role as “Grammy.” She always knew just the right special trinket or “chachki” to delight her two granddaughters, Claudia and Carisa. Her granddaughters always looked forward to visiting with Grammy, especially at her house, the “house filled with desserts” as they liked to call it. For her 70th birthday this April, despite some medical issues and mobility challenges that would have discouraged most people from living life to the fullest, Beverly went ahead and fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Ireland. Beverly always had energy & motivation for the fun stuff. Beverly would want to be remembered for her zest for life and her determination to enjoy it. While life ended prematurely, Beverly can rest in peace knowing that she brought an eternal kindness and fun to family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances; and that the traditions, values, and love she instilled in her children will live on in the next generation. Beverly was the beloved wife of the late Bryan V. Ruscak. She was the loving mother of Bryan V. Ruscak, Jr. & his wife Caroline of Burlington and Lindsey Jones Ruscak of Cambridge. She was the sister of Barbara DiNitto of Burlington. Beverly was the proud grandmother of Claudia and Carisa Ruscak. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
