In 1935, with Mussolini’s Fascist Party aligning itself with the Nazi Party of Germany, it was once again time to pack up and move again back to the United States. The family’s Italian heritage and values would always remain with Ann. She lived in the North End until she married. Then over the years she had resided in the North End, Watertown, the North End again, Medford and finally Burlington, where she has lived for the past 57 years. As she learned from her mother, she was the matriarch of her family. She ran her home, cared for her family, and shared her Italian heritage with them. She returned back to Italy numerous times with her children and grandchildren so that they could meet their Italian family and see and appreciate her origins. She was a fantastic Italian cook and she loved spending Sundays with her family having family dinners. Her eggplant and meatballs were her family’s favorite meals. She always had a vegetable garden and a house full of plants. She will be remembered for her strong independence, candor, and the love she had for her family.
