Obituary of Linda Anne Boyce

Linda Anne Boyce, a woman who embraced life and love, passed away at the Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer’s disease in Wellesley on Tuesday morning, November 29th. The beloved spouse of Cheryl Lee Volpe, she was 69 years old. Linda was born, raised and educated in Malden. She was a graduate of Malden High School. After High School Linda went on to Hairdressing school and worked at a salon in Wellesley It was while working at the hair salon that Linda would meet the love of her life, her soulmate and eventually her spouse, Cheryl Volpe. They were together for 40 years and married for close to eight years. Linda and Cheryl lived in Wellesley for a number of years before moving to Woburn where they lived for the last 21 years. After being a hairdresser for a number of years she changed careers. With her passion for cooking she became a chef working at a number of local restaurants. Not one to sit idle Linda also worked as a driver for Granada Limo Service. With her attention to detail and outgoing personality Linda was always selected to drive the “VIP’s” which included Tom Selleck and Ellen DeGeneres. Linda loved to camp. Linda, Cheryl and their entire family of about 25 would have their annual camping trip to Lake Champagne in Randolph Vermont the first week of August. Linda’s role on these trips was to plan and cook the meals. Paper plates and plastic utensils where not allowed – Linda made sure that they had good plates, glasses, tables, table cloths and real silverware! She was the one who organized all the family events and holidays. With her quick wit and great sense of humor she was always the life of the party! Linda truly cared about people. When her mother-in-law took sick in Florida she insisted that they moved to Florida for a year to care for her. She was the type of person that when she went to the supermarket she knew all the employees names and always made sure she asked how they were doing. Linda loved children and she was blessed to have been an important part of her nieces and nephews lives. She watched them grow into adulthood and have children of their own. Linda also had a dog “Lola” that she adored. Linda and Cheryl had a wonderful life together. They travelled and one of their favorite trips being a cruise to Alaska. They were always together supporting each other. Cheryl, along with all the family, were a constant source of support to Linda when she battled both a brain aneurism and breast cancer. She beat both of those challenges only to have a stroke this past March. Linda was able to celebrate her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, with Cheryl and her family just last week. She will be remembered as a warm, personable, thoughtful and caring woman who made an impact on all those lives she touched. Linda was the beloved spouse of Cheryl Lee Volpe. Loving daughter of Anne Marie (Nelson) Boyce and the late Charles Francis of Malden. Loving sister of Michelle Tuttavilla & her husband Michael of Lynn, James Boyce of Malden, Steven Boyce & his wife Annette of Manchester, NH and Jack Boyce & his partner Stewart Landers of East Boston. Stepmother of Julie Volpe & her spouse Vivian Volpe of CA. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
