Obituary of Dorothy Pearson
Dorothy (Knapp) Pearson, passed away at the Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington on Friday December 23, 2016. The beloved wife of the late Jack Edgar Pearson, she was 86 years old.
Dorothy was born, raised and educated in Montana. She was one of six children born to the late Harry and Johanna Knapp. Dorothy grew up on the family farm outside of Helena, Montana. The farm produced wheat and other crops. The farm also had horses and chickens. It was a wonderful environment to live in as a child growing up.
She met her husband Jack and they married in 1949. They moved to the rural area known as Orchard Prairie, near Spokane, Washington where they raised their family and became very involved in the community they lived in. Jack was the Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department and Dorothy served for many years as a member of the local school committee. When the boys grew older, Dorothy worked at several elementary schools as the school secretary. Not one to sit idle during her retirement years she was the leader of the craft club in the community she lived in. After her husband Jack passed away Dorothy moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her son Monte in Burlington.
Dorothy was the Beloved wife of the late Jack Edgar Pearson. She was the Loving mother of Monte Pearson and his wife Martha Simon of Burlington and of Scott Pearson of Oakland, CA. She was the Proud grandmother of Wendy Simon Pearson and Laura Simon Pearson. Dorothy was predeceased by 5 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be private.
