Obituary of Lorraine C. McDonald

Lorraine C. (Puntonio) McDonald, a woman devoted to her family, passed away after a long illness at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Monday evening, January 2, 2017. The beloved wife of 44 years of John A. “Jack” McDonald, she was 82 years old. Lorraine was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Puntonio. Lorraine and Jack met through a mutual friend and dated for two years before marrying on June 22, 1974. They had 46 wonderful years together and were devoted to each other. Lorraine worked as an Administrator in the Dietary Department of Youville Hospital in Cambridge for over 37 years. She also worked for Tufts Medical Center for a period of time. She loved to crotched Afghans and share them with her family. Lorraine’s family brought her great joy. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. When she went shopping she always ended up buying something for one of her grandchildren. Lorraine was the best “Nana”. Lorraine had a nurturing nature. She was always caring for and helping others. She had a wonderful close relationship with her daughter Lisa and Lisa’s husband Bill was like a son to her. Lorraine always looked forward to visits from her son Jeffery and his wife Diane. Lorraine was blessed to have a wonderful family. Lorraine was the beloved wife of John A. “Jack” McDonald. Loving mother of Jeffrey Campbell, Sr. & his wife Diane of Sandwich and Lisa Spinazola & her husband William of Woburn. Proud and devoted Nana of Jeffrey Campbell, Jr. of NC, Michelle Lozier & her husband Mark of Pepperell and Danielle Gannon of Burlington. Great Grandmother of Sophia Campbell and Dylan, Caitlyn & Bryan Lozier. Loving Sister to Maria Moss of NY and Joseph Puntonio & his wife Maryann of Tewksbury. A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Jan 5 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at Noon. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
