Kenneth Mark Arsenault, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, January 13, 2017. The beloved husband of Anne (Ruggeri); he was 61 years old.
Ken was born, raised and educated in Waltham. He was a 1973 graduate of Waltham High School. Ken graduated from Bentley College in 1977. He worked as a Grant Administrator for Government and Defense Companies such as GTE, MIT and W.T. Chen. After his retirement he went to work as a bartender. The job perfectly suited his friendly demeanor, welcoming smile and outgoing personality.
Ken and Anne married in 1981 and settled in Burlington where they would raise their three children, Matthew, Peter and Molly. Ken was very involved in his children’s lives and activities. He coached them in baseball, soccer and softball. Ken served as the President of the Burlington Boosters and was very involved in Burlington Youth Soccer and Burlington Youth Baseball. He was a hands on dad.
Ken was always there for everyone. He was the kind of man who walked through the Blizzard of ‘78 to see his future wife. He was the kind of friend and a neighbor who would extend himself to help out whatever the circumstances, day or night. And he was the kind of dad who would make sure his children had anything they needed, no matter the distance he had to travel to get it. All you had to do was pick up the phone and call and he would be there for you. That was just the type of person he was. Ken, Anne, and their children had a wonderful life together. They were a close family that not only loved each other but loved being together. They enjoyed traveling together as a family. Some of their most memorable trips include vacations to Florida, Italy, Alaska, California, and Newport. Most recently, the family all celebrated New Year’s together with a trip to Wine Country in Sonoma.
br> Ken loved sports. He enjoyed golfing, especially in tournaments with his sons, and skiing. He also was a proud Boston Sports fan following all the local sports teams. Ken had recently started playing noon-time basketball with a group of local Burlington residents weekly.
The year 2016 was a busy and exciting one for the entire Arsenault family. They had the time of their lives celebrating the weddings of Matthew to his wife Laura and Peter to his wife Jen. Ken was also very involved in and excited for the preparations of his daughter Molly’s wedding to her fiance Steve in 2017. Ken was a great dad and a wonderful role model for his three children instilling in them the values that his parents instilled in him. He was a supportive and loving husband and best friend to his wife, Anne, of 35 years. Ken’s unexpected and sudden death leaves his family with a heavy heart.
Ken was the beloved husband of 35 years of Anne (Ruggeri). Ken was the loving and proud father of Matthew & his wife Laura of San Mateo, CA, Peter & his wife Jennifer of Belmont and Molly & her fiancé Stephen Connors of Wilmington.
