My condolences to the entire McKenna family. I was a long time friend of Sean's and wish I had known of his Mom's passing as I would have attended the services, and shown my respect to my good friends family.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Roberta was a REMARKABLE woman! I enjoyed my trips with her to Florida to visit with her sister, Phyllis very much! She was always so engaging and interested in what people had to say! Surely an endearing quality! I recall a time when I was staying at Phillips Lake, and Phyllis and Roberta came to visit. I had a friend visiting who had a daughter who was 13, and had recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. She was a very quiet girl and quite withdrawn. I looked out at the dock and there was Roberta talking with Erica and Erica was telling Roberta, in great detail EVERYTHING about the camp she had just attended for children with cancer! What a gift for that child!!! Roberta learned more about her in 30 minutes than I had learned in knowing her for 13 years!! I was SO impressed!! Roberta will be GREATLY missed!

I loved this lady like a mother....she and my mom were friends from their late teens, during WWII. Their friendship continued through the years and when my mother passed in 2003, Roberta was one of the last people she spoke with on the phone ! Our family will miss her sweet voice on the phone, always interested in our lives! And we will miss our visits with her, and how she loved to show us around Rockport/Gloucester and even down to Boston area! We made great memories with her, and those will warm our hearts every time we think of her. God bless her family in this time of 'goodbye'...we love you all, too!
