With deepest condolences for the loss of your Mom. I knew Joan at Lexington Arts and Crafts as I worked in the office and bought one of her beautiful Fall paintings a couple years ago that hangs in my living room. Peace be with you. Rhonda

I was so pleased to participate in the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society with Joan. She as a colleague at Wellesley. She always had a positive, can do attitude and generous to all. She is missed.

So many lovely memories of Joan. Her beautiful watercolors, her enthusiasm for her classes but especially her commitment and love of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society and her Painters Guild. For so many years she volunteered her expertise and help on every exhibit and event. She was a valuable helper whether it was coordinating membership or hanging an exhibit. You could always depend on her. But some of my favorite memories was seeing her drive in with her kayak on the car roof, ready to go for a sail when her work was done. I will miss her.

We would like to express our heartfelt sorrow at the passing of Joan. She was a wonderful artist and dedicated member. Many of us are lucky to own some of her watercolor paintings. The Lexington Arts and Crafts Society greatly appreciates her many years of support and service. Joan will be missed but not soon forgotten.

Joan lent a strong, supporting presence to the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society. She was in frequent attendance there, and in the Painters Guild, Joan brought ideas for the long range as well as for the immediate times. She was a sensible, intelligent, hands-on leader who spent many hours of physical labor to make the institution the best that it could be. As treasurer of the Painters Guild, I saw all of this at first hand, particularly while serving on the PG board with her. Joan knew who could benefit from scholarships that we might give to them to keep them active in our guild, and directed us to discreetly help them. She loved art, and produced many delightful watercolors. I am sorry that she is gone, and I send my condolences to her son and daughter-in-law. Sincerely, John Langan

I remember Joan fondly as a colleague at the Wellesley College Library. I found her a little intimidating at times, but I learned a lot from her and she was completely devoted to the faculty, students, and staff of Wellesley. I always admired the way she pursued her life, not afraid of taking on new challenges. My prayers are with her family. She will be deeply missed.

I worked with Joan at Wellesley College. She was in the Clapp Library and I worked with the Information Technology group. Joan did a lot of work with our organization and she was always a pleasure to work with. I always enjoyed our interactions. She was a lovely person and I will remember her fondly.
