Obituary of Rose Camacho
Rose “Rosa” A. (Abreu) Camacho, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 2007. The wife of 49 years of Manuel Camacho, she was 83 years old.
Rosa was born in Woburn. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Abreu. At the age of 3 months she moved back to Madeira Portugal with her family where she was raised and educated. She married her husband Manuel in Portugal. Upon returning to the United States, she settled in Woburn. Rosa devoted her life to creating a home for her family. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family most especially Sunday dinners. She worked as a Seamstress at Meltzer Company from 1974 – 1985.
Rosa had a love of music. She enjoyed dancing and singing. She also played a number of instruments including the Ukulele and the Harmonica. She was a member of the Portuguese Club in Woburn. Family was very important to Rosa and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who she would talk to in Portuguese. Rosa was blessed to have a life that spanned 83 years filled with a loving family.
Rosa is the beloved wife of Manuel. She is the loving mother of Rosemary & her husband Jose DeSousa of Woburn, Brenda Camacho-Claudino & her husband Carlos Claudino of Woburn, Irene Camacho-Martinez & her husband Miguel Martinez of Woburn and the late Manuel. She is the sister of Julia DeFreitas of Woburn and Albert Abreu of Woburn, and the late Joao, Amelia, Celeste, Manny, Ester, Jaime, and Antonio Abreu. She is the Grandmother of Daniela DeSousa, Jaime, Gabriana and Angela Camacho-DeSousa, Justine and Manny Camacho-Claudino, Kory Camacho-DaSilva, and Karina Camacho-Martinez. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, May 14 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Church, Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 pm. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
