Obituary of Robert Anderson

Due to the storm on Thursday the Funeral Mass for Mr. Anderson will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Margaret's in Burlington. Robert H. Anderson, a man who devoted his life to his family, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center on Friday morning, February 3, 2017. The beloved husband of Patricia (Miller) Anderson. He was 81 years old. Bob was born in Woburn. He was the youngest of 13 children born to Swedish immigrants, the late William and Anna Anderson. He was raised and educated in Woburn. Bob met his wife Pat through a mutual friend. They married in 1956 and had just celebrated 61 years of marriage on January 12th. They moved to Burlington in 1957 where they raised their three children. Bob had a 44 year career at GenCorp which was a vinyl manufacturing company. He retired as a Supervisor. It was the only job that he held as an adult. Bob had a very strong work ethic and was a very loyal employee. It isn’t often that you saw someone work at the same place for 44 years. Bob was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and hunting. When his children were young, the family would vacation in Maine and eventually purchase a home on Highland Lake in Bridgton Maine. The family would go to the lake house on weekends, during school vacations and any other opportunity they had. They would fish, boat, hunt, and snowmobile. Highland Lake brought wonderful times together for the Anderson Family. Bob was devoted to his wife Pat. She was his soulmate. He cherished her and all the years that they were together. There wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for each other. As a couple, they were a role model for other young couples and an inspiration to others as to what love, marriage, and family were all about. Bob was the youngest of 13 children. His childhood home was always filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. Growing up in such a large family, Bob learned quickly that family should be the center of one’s life. When Bob became a father, he instilled those family values in his own home. He had a great sense of humor and shared his love of life with his children and grandchildren. He was a fun “Grampy” who wanted nothing more than to spend time with his grandchildren and share in their accomplishments in life. He was so very proud of his three children Karen, Bob and David and his nine grandchildren. Bob was the beloved husband of Patricia (Miller) Anderson. He was the loving father of Karen Bondeson & her husband Allen of Chelmsford, Robert Anderson of Burlington and David Anderson & his wife Elaine of Pepperell. He was the father-in-law of Brenda Anderson of Burlington. Bob was the proud “Grampy” of Joshua, Douglas & Kenneth Bondeson, Alisha Edwards, and Melissa, Briana, Katherine, Stephanie & Mark Anderson. He was the brother of Lillian Patterson of NH and the late Milly Fucarile, Elsa Vatcher, Sigrid Badger, Arlene Jones, Anna Fanjoy, Violet Fanjoy and Gustave, Carl, Stanley, Robert & Ingrid Anderson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
