John W. Alexander passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. The beloved husband of Filomena de Freitas he was 48 years old. John was born in Boston. He was the son of the late Robert & Rosalyn Alexander. He was raised and educated in Malden and Medford. He was a graduate of Medford High School. John was a handyman. He worked as a machinist and in recent years he worked as a window framer. He enjoyed working on cars. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t try to fix. John loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending times at the mountains. John loved animals and had a Yorkshire Terrier Poodle called “Bella” that he adored. Christmas was his favorite holiday. Decorating his home during the Christmas holidays and spending time with his family gave him great joy. He was devoted to his wife and stepchildren. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family. John and Filomena enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit family. They had a wonderful marriage and loved just being together. He was Filomena’s best friend and confidant. John will be remembered as a kind, loving and patient man with a wonderful heart. John was the beloved husband of Filomena de Freitas. Loving stepfather of Victor Januario & his partner Maryssa Whitmere of Nashua, NH, Donny Ortiz & his wife Angie of CA and Mary Ortiz of Nashua, NH. Uncle of Andrew Alexander of Nashua, NH. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Friday, Feb. 17 at noon. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11am – 12 noon. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
