Gertrude M. “Trudy” Christie, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Saturday evening, March 25, 2017. The beloved wife of Ronald, she was 81 years old. Trudy was born, raised and educated in Chelsea. She was the daughter of the late Angelo and Anne Tentindo. She married her husband Ronald on October 26, 1958. They lived in Chelsea where they raised their four children. Then they moved briefly to Wakefield before settling in Burlington. Trudy devoted herself to her husband and her family. When her children were young she was very involved in their lives. She was a Girl Scout leader and President of the PTA. She never missed one of their sporting events. Trudy had many interest and hobbies she enjoyed playing bingo and a good game of cards. She also enjoyed crocheting. Trudy and her husband always looked forward to their annual visit to Florida. Trudy had an outgoing personality and you always knew where you stood with her. She had a huge heart and was always giving of herself to others. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for a friend or family member. For many years she took in foster children some of which she adopted. She was an awesome grandmother and great grandmother. Nothing made Trudy happier than being with her family. Trudy was the beloved wife of Ronald. Loving mother of Cheryl Ames & her husband Robert of Revere, Ronald Jr. of Wakefield, Steven of Wakefield and John of Hampton, NH. Proud grandmother of Robert Ames, Jr., Jason, Avery & Angelo Christie and Ashley Miller. Great grandmother of Colton & CJ Miller. Sister of the late Eleanor Preble, James and John Tentindo. A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128/95 Woburn side) on Wednesday, March 29 from 5-8 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Trudy’s name may be made to the Tower Hill Tenant Association Activity Fund, 15 Birchcrest St., Burlington, MA 01803.
