Obituary of Irene Bausch
Irene (Callahan) Bausch, age 89, of Burlington and recently from Chelmsford, died peacefully in Wilmington on May 1, 2017.
Irene was born in Dorchester. She was the cherished daughter of the late James Claude and Irene Callahan. Irene was educated in Dorchester and graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School. She worked for Jordan Marsh for several years prior to marrying.
Irene married Frank Bausch and loved raising their family of seven children in Burlington. They were happily married for 64 yrs. when Frank predeceased her in 2013. Irene was a member of St. Malachy's Women's Society where Irene worked for the MaryKnoll Missionaries for many years collecting S&H green stamps to purchase vehicles and necessities for priests to use in the Philippine Islands. She was a member of Brunswick Bowling League for many years and enjoyed playing whist and bridge with friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, sewing, and baking in her spare time. She looked forward to her favorite time of year Spring. She loved to grow plants and flowers and tended her gardens. She enjoyed many summers in Wareham swimming, boating, and simply being in the presence of her family. She loved having her family near her and looked forward to family outings and gatherings.
Irene is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Frank Bausch. She leaves behind her children Alan Bausch & his wife Carol of Maynard, Stephen Bausch & his wife Patty of Manchester, NH, Jeanne Esdale & her husband Bob of Wilmington, Paul Bausch of Chelmsford, James Bausch of Franklin, NH, Elaine Rush & her husband Joe of Nashua, NH, and John Bausch & his wife Arlene of Gilmanton, NH. Irene also leaves behind her grandchildren Dan & Kristin Esdale, Patrick, Lauren & Caitlin Rush, Timothy, Matthew, Kevin, Teresa,& Philip Bausch. Sister of the late K. Funeral from the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128/95 Woburn side) on Friday, May 5 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
