Obituary of June S. Gordon
June S. (Haraden) Gordon, a resident of Burlington for over 50 years, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Thursday morning, June 8, 2017. The beloved wife of the late William R. Gordon who passed away in 2010, she was 88 years old.
June was born, raised and educated in Attleboro. She was one of two daughters born to the late Allen and Beatrice Haraden. After high school she attended Katherine Gibbs secretarial school. She married William R. Gordon in 1953 and settled in Burlington where they would raise their four children and become an active member of the community. June loved the ocean. When her children were young she would take them to Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. June and her husband were longtime members of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverley where they kept their 22 foot sailboat “Here Today”.
June led a full and active life. She was a former member of the Burlington Garden Club. She enjoyed playing bridge at the Burlington Council on Aging where she made many friendships. June was a fiercely independent and strong woman. During the winter she could be seen snow blowing her drive way and she mowed her own lawn as recently as Monday. June was known for speaking her mind and telling you her opinion. You always knew where you stood with June! June had just celebrated her 88th birthday on June 5th.
June was the beloved wife of the late William R. Gordon. She was the loving mother of Justin of Groveland, Kimberley Gordon Silva of Pepperell, Jeff of Groton and the late Sally A. Beebe. Proud grandmother of Christopher, Jaclyn & Austin Gordon. Sister of the late Beverly Anderson. Funeral Services were private.
