Obituary of Dominic A. Langone
Dominic A. Langone, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away at his home Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 91.
Dominic was born September 20, 1925 in Woburn, the son of the late Louis and Domenica (Inella) Langone. Following graduation from Woburn High, he served in the US Army in Italy during WWII with the 345th Engineers Division. In 1951 he married the late Mary (Connors) Langone, and they settled in Burlington in the home which he built, where they raised their family of eight children. Dominic was employed at DeMonico and Hogan until his retirement in 1987. Dominic enjoyed his retirement years, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a reputation for being a great cook, well known for his homemade ravioli. He was a talented carpenter, an avid reader and he loved working in his garden.
Dominic was the loving husband of 63 years of the late Mary E. Langone (Connors). He was the loving father of Mary Ellen Lackaye & her husband Timothy of New York, NY, Jean Smith & her husband Alan of Kimberton, PA, Louis Langone & his wife Kathy of Townsend, Richard Langone & his wife Eileen of Arlington, Kathleen Lawson of Burlington, Michael Langone & his wife Janet of Santa Fe, NM, Eileen Gallahue of Billerica & her companion Harry Bruce, and the Late Ret. Chief Petty Officer, USN Joseph Langone and his wife Machiko of Bonita, CA. He was the brother of Michael, Carmella (Boissennault), Jeremiah and Daniel all of Woburn, and the late Frank (Pat), Antoinette, Louis Jr., Joseph, and Anthony. Dominic was the proud Grampy of Sean & Megan Lackaye, Jason Smith, Heather, Kyle & Eric Lawson, Kelly & Brendan Gallahue, Andrew, Katie, Sara, Rachel, and Anthony Langone and great grandfather of Connor Lackaye.
Funeral from the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 4 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Friday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
