Obituary of Donald Balestrier

Donald M. Balestrier, a retired mechanical inspector, passed away peacefully at the Sudbury Pines Extended Care on Sunday night, August 20, 2017. He was 75 years old. Don was born in Everett, the son of the late Michael and Joan Balestrier. He grew up and was educated in Somerville. He worked for Palmer Manufacturing which manufactured airplane parts for many years as a mechanical inspector. He was involved in the Burlington Little League as a coach. He also enjoyed bowling, playing his numbers and was an avid Boston sports fan. Don was the beloved husband of Frances (Agati) Balestrier. He was the loving father of Lisa Lesperance of Litchfield, NH; Susan Newcomb and her husband Henry of Stoneham; and Stephen Balestrier and his wife Alice of Manvel, TX. He was the brother of Lawrence of Somerville, Eleanor Barrasso of N. Reading, and the late Janice Stanford. Don’s greatest joy was being a loving Papa to his seven grandchildren: Kevin, Holly, & Morgan Lesperance, Sydney & Tori Newcomb, and Violet & Oliver Balestrier. Funeral services were private.
