Obituary of Theresa Pergamo
Theresa C. Pergamo, a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at her home with her family at her bedside on Friday night, March 23, 2012. She was 83 years old. Theresa was born in Cambridge the daughter of the late James and Bridie Costello. She grew up and was educated in East Cambridge. After she was married she lived in Somerville until settling in Burlington in 1965. Theresa had worked at Goodway Industries and Computervision, but for her being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was her most important profession in life. She loved and cared for her entire family. She was there to support them in their accomplishments and challenges. She was very attached to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called her “Old Nana”, which she loved. She also enjoyed dancing, country music, and times spent with her family and friends. In her later years, her family lovingly cared for her, just as she had done for them their entire lives. Theresa leaves a legacy of love and family.
Theresa was the loving mother of Marjorie & her husband Gary Irving of Merrimack, NH, Michael & his wife Donna of Plaistow, NH, Richard & his wife Meri of Derry, NH, Suzanne & her husband Michael Foden of Raymond, NH, and William & his wife Cheryle of Gardner. She was the sister of Elizabeth Duffy of Watertown, the late Margaret Gangstad, John Costello, Mary “Costy” Hurd, Agnes Costello, and Charlotte Moniz. She was the former wife of the late Joseph Pergamo. She was also survived by 10 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and was anxiously the birth of her 9th great grandchild.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, March 27 from 4-7:30 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
