It has been a very long time since I was an active Scouter with Herb. He had a kind heart and had a unique sense of humor. I can still hear his laugh. He thought so much of others that many Scouts and Scouters valued his guidance, skills and experiences. A kind word from Mr. Zschokke went a long way. God bless him, his family and to all those who were touched by his life.

I will miss the music, love and laughter (with that mischievous humor of yours). And the way I always felt when visiting - that I had come home. (Maybe you’ll run into my Papa up in the big supermarket in the sky, the way you used to down here!) Save some pfeffernusse for me, because I am sure it will be Christmastime…

I'm sorry for your loss. I knew Herb through Boy Scouting as a fellow leader. He had a terrific personality and he'll surely be missed. He had such a genuine personality with a really good sense of humor that it was infectious. He inspired me and my fellow scouters to reach higher.

Dear Zschokke Family,
I'm sending thoughts and prayers for Herbie and all of you. My mom, Shirley (Herb's cousin), died on Sept 24, 1995. Herbie was a favorite of hers, so it's interesting they left us on the same date. I know he will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
