Mr. Hanafin was the CEO of the credit unio services company in Brighton where I had one of my first jobs. He made an impression — he was always pleasant, approachable and inclusive. A memorable leader, he was humble man who cared deeply about faith, his wife, family and the community. My sincere condolences to the Hanafin clan.

Rose, Rosemary and to all of you. Carole just told me about your husband/dad. I am so truly sorry to hear. He left all of us with great memories. We had the BEST neighborhood ever and it was due to having such great parents, Charlie included. I remember him coming down the hill in that car and we would jump in. I loved the Mooney Circle cookouts and Charlie would always say to me that I could sit at your table if I wanted. A real sweet man. Great memories. Hugs to all of you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Someone said: "It is not death that most people are afraid of. It is getting to the end of life, only to realize you never truly live". Charles Hanafin, because you truly and fully lived a holy life, you will never die. Your true life will but multiply in your children, grandchildren, great grand children, and all of of us touched by your Blessings, your Generosity, Your Prayers and the love of your Church and your Country. You taught so many of us to love the Blessed Mother, may her love embrace you now and usher you into Paradise. You taught your grandchildren the life of the saints. May the Saints of the Lord hasten to welcome you in their midst. It is not a coincidence that you joined them on the feast of Saint Therese of Lisieux who said: "I want to spend my life in heaven, doing good on earth." Keep teaching us to live and love Charlie.

We send our deepest sympathy to Charlie's dear wife, Rose and his entire family. I had the pleasure to work with Charlie on a special project that he directed at State Sreet Bank. This was in the early 80's. While directing the project, he was heading up the fundraiser for the Mission Church. I learned a lot from Charlie and consider myself blessed to have known him. May Charlie be blessed with the ultimate reward of heavenly peace and happiness for all the good He did during his earthly life.
Most sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. James Ouellette

As a friend of the family I am sure you feel that God is taking Charlie under his wing to a place of peace and happiness. Charlie has done God's work here on earth for many years and it is now time for him to rest and pass on those duties to others of us here on earth.
