Obituary of Jacqueline Tieri
Jacqueline “Jackie” E. Tieri, a 46 year resident of Woburn, formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully with her loving and devoted family by her side on Saturday, morning, Oct. 21, 2017. She was born in Everett, the daughter of James and Mary “Doherty” Freelove. She worked as a hairdresser for most of her career, and often went to her elderly client’s homes.
Jackie was the beloved wife of Richard L. Tieri for 57 years. She was the loving mother of Barbara Murray of Wilmington and the late Michelle Linell of West Palm Beach, FL. She was the caring mother–in-law to Kevin Murray of Wilmington and Harry Linell of West Palm Beach, FL. and the proud grandmother of Sydney Linell of West Palm Beach, FL, Kristina Murray, and Richard Murray both of Wilmington, MA. She was the sister of Barbara DeVito of Everett and the late James Freelove. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jackie’s world revolved around her family caring for her children, grandchildren and husband Richard. She was a “city” girl, but was a trooper when it came to moving to Woburn and being involved in both her daughter’s horseback riding activities, 4-H, skiing and all the other activities they participated in. However, her unconditional love and encouragement throughout their lives was her true gift to them.
She supported her husband in his catering business and frequently helped out at Richie’s Deli in North Woburn. They spent many weeks in Florida each year visiting their daughter Michelle’s family and enjoyed trips to the Casinos in Connecticut, Las Vegas, or a Caribbean vacation. An avid reader, she always had a mystery book at her side.
Spending time with her grandchildren was precious to her. She attended all sporting events and activities her grandchildren participated in. She attended most ceremonies for each, however, shopping with each of them was by far her favorite.
Jackie had a kind and thoughtful heart, always doing for others before herself. She was a frequent card shopper, selecting each card for the perfect occasions of all her friends and family. When you received a card from Jackie, you knew it was special.
