Obituary of Marjorie Vercollone

Marjorie A. Vercollone, a retired legal secretary and Nana passed away on Sunday afternoon April 1 at the age of 91. Marjorie was born in Malden, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Goggin. She grew up in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School and Burdett Secretarial School. She married her late husband Richard when she was 25 years old. Over the years, they made their home and raised their children in Medford, Somerville, and Arlington. When her children went to school, she worked as a secretary for Life Insurance of America and several law firms. Marjorie had a number of interests outside of work. She was a keen Bridge player and had several Master Points. She was a talented cook and pianist. She liked the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, but never wanted to be the center of attention. She was a loving and caring mother. But what Marjorie loved most was being a “NANA”. She cherished the time spent with all of her grandchildren, and would plan her vacations around the grandchildren’s visits. They were her pride and joy and in her eyes they could do no wrong or as she would say they were as “Good as Gold”. They all brought so much happiness into her life. Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Vercollone. She was the loving mother of Richard W. Vercollone & his wife Barbara of Brewster, NY, Roy L. Vercollone & his wife Leslie Mason of Burlington and Roberta Judge & her husband William of Melrose. She was the sister of Virginia Cahill of Winchester formerly of Medford & Eleanor Woodward of Forest Hills, NY. She was the proud grandmother of James, Jeffrey, Nicholas, Christopher & Haley Vercollone and Ian, Michael, & Stephen Judge and great grandmother of Daniela & Gianna Vercollone. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
