Obituary of Grace Bushee

Grace Catherine (Kirmes) Bushee, a retired Nurse for the Burlington School system, passed away at the Pine Knoll Nursing Center on Monday morning, November 20, 2017. The beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Bushee, Grace was 99 years old. Grace was born and raised in Melrose. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Rether Bushee. She trained for her nursing degree at Massachusetts General Hospital. Grace and Ernest moved to Burlington in 1955 where they would raise their family. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Burlington Public Health Department and Memorial School. Grace had a passion for gardening. She had both a vegetable garden and a flower garden. She took pride in her gardening skills. Grace was a great cook and would spend hours in the kitchen. Cooking was a big part of her life. She baked cookies, pies, and bread. She always put a lot of effort into the meals she prepared for her family always using fresh vegetables from her garden. Grace was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting. You were one of the special ones if you received one of her hand made sweaters. She always loved birds and would feed the birds in her yard. She also had a fondness for dogs most especially her Yorkshire terriers. . Grace and her husband Ernest loved to travel throughout the United States and there weren’t many states they missed visiting. Grace was blessed to see the birth of her 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a down to earth woman who always looked out for others. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in March. . Grace was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Bushee. She was the loving mother of Kenneth of Burlington, David & his wife Donna of Nashua, NH and the late William Bushee and his wife Christine of OK. Grace is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral Services were private.
