Obituary of Christina Marie O'Brien

Christina Marie O’Brien passed away unexpectedly from complications from a car accident on Wednesday morning, December 27, 2017. She was only 36 years old. Christina was born in Medford, the daughter of Joseph and Carol Romano. Her family moved from Medford to Burlington when she was 10 years old. She was a graduate of St. Clement High School in Medford in 1999. Christina had numerous circles of friends from her childhood friends in Burlington and Medford, to her adult friends, and coworkers. Plus, she was extremely close to all her Romano and Doherty aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the type of person that people gravitated to. She was always happy and upbeat and she always lit up the room. She was always giving of herself. She had a huge heart. She was there for a family member or friend who needed a helping hand or someone who would listen to their problems and when appropriate give some sound advice. She volunteered her time for Veteran’s charities and for Toys for Tots. She loved the ocean and the beaches of Gloucester and Rockport. She loved hopping on the back of her husband Dan’s Harley Davidson motorcycle and taking a road trip with not particular destination in mind. She loved to shop and always knew where to get the best deals. The year, 2017, should have been the greatest year of her life. She had married the love of her life, Dan O’Brien, in March. She had planned her wedding with her mom, Carol, who was fighting cancer. Her wedding day was so special for everyone. There were endless memories of the perfect couple, Dan in his Marine uniform and Christina looking stunning in her wedding dress she had picked with her mother and her excitement and joy radiating from her. She was starting a new life with the one she loved, moving into their new home in Billerica, and looking forward to many blissful years and growing old together. Christina’s outgoing and upbeat personality led her to a career in the hospitality industry. She had spent the last 5 years working as a waitress and bartender at Burlington’s Tavern on the Square restaurant. She had previously worked as a manager at Panera’s, Papa Razzi Trattoria, and Vinnie Testa’s. Her sweet demeanor and charm, friendliness, and attention to detail made her well loved by all the patrons and staff. She understood that her customers were there for a special experience whether it was a celebration, reunion, a first date, reprieve from their kids, or any reason and Christina knew how to enhance that experience through her great service and warm persona. She was a natural. Christina was the beloved wife Daniel W. O’Brien. She was the loving daughter of Joseph Romano & the late Carol (Doherty) Romano of Burlington. She was the caring sister of Joseph Romano, Jr. of Burlington. She was the daughter-in-law of James & Phyllis O’Brien of Burlington and sister-in-law of Shawna & Craig Ciampa of Billerica. She was the niece of Barbara Diozzi & the late James of Saugus, Joanne & Philip Catanzano of Wakefield, Paula Romano of Stoneham, Harry Jr. & Maria Romano of Medford, James & Heather Romano of Westford and the late Elizabeth “Betsy” & Roberta Doherty.
