Obituary of Catherine Kay'' Reynolds
Catherine “Kay” V. Reynolds, a resident of Burlington for 55 years passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2018. Kay was one of four children born to Clifford and Agnes Lowe. She grew up in Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown. She worked for Western Electric prior to having children and then returned to work after her 3 boys were in school. She spent another 20 plus years working for Western Electric, which later became ATT&T. Kay found retirement a bit boring, so she took on the role as nanny to 3 siblings. Those 10 years were some of the most rewarding years of her life. She loved playing with the children, being silly, and a positive influence on their lives, watching them grow up, and one by one become confident young adults who unfortunately did not a nanny any more.
Kay was a longtime member of St. Margaret’s Church. Her husband William “Red” would usher at the masses and Kay worked with her girlfriends on the Holiday Bazaar and socials. She was a member of the Burlington Historical Society for many years. Kay enjoyed traveling and summering with her boys at Old Orchard Beach for the past 20 plus years. She loved socializing with neighbors at the park and occasionally even went to the beach. Kay will remembered for her spunkiness, sense of humor, and the wonderful way she viewed life.
Kay was the loving wife of the late William J. “Red” Reynolds. She was the loving mother of William J. Reynolds and Edward J. Reynolds both of Burlington and the late Steven J. Reynolds. She was predeceased by her siblings; Frances A. Martin, Henry J. Lowe, and Marion A. Keltgen. She was the honorary grandmother of Nicholas Dobbins, Nathan Dobbins, and Noreen Joyce and great grandmother of Ava Dobbins and Chase Joyce.
