Vincenzino Imbrenda

Obituary of Vincenzino Imbrenda

Vincenzino Imbrenda, a remarkable man who worked hard to provide for his family, passed away at the Osterman’s Rest Home in Melrose, on Sunday evening, February 18th, 2018. The beloved husband of the late Mariantonia, he was 84 years old. Vincenzino was born in Sicignano degli Alburni, in the southerns province of Campania in Italy. He lived in the little town of Castellucio until he was 18 years of age. Like many other Europeans after World War II he moved to Caracas, Venezuela in search of better work opportunities. Vincenzino intended his stay in Venezuela to be short but he and Mariantonia settled into a large community of Italians meeting new friends and getting reacquainted with some old friends and family that also migrated. They made their home in Caracas and raised their two accomplished daughters. Vincenzino was a hands on father, like few, to his two daughters Dora and Giusi. He worked hard all week and every Sunday it was family time together. He would load up the trunk of his car with fun things for the girls to play with, and head to the local park to spend quality time with them. When the girls got older Saturday’s became their time together and they spent their time at the pool and at the beach. Vincenzino knew no other motto than to work hard to provide for his family. He was a talented craftsman and had a long career as a carpenter doing interior finishes. He was not one to sit idle, no..., he was always looking what to fix and helping out in the condo complex they lived in, helping repair almost anything and generously giving of his time to others. In the early 2000’s both of his daughters relocated to the United States to further their higher education. They established themselves in Massachusetts, married and started their families. They would return frequently to Caracas to visit parents and friends and to celebrate holidays. In 2013 his wife Mariantonia became ill and they moved to Massachusetts, closer to their two daughters. Vincenzino will be remembered as a quiet and thoughtful man who had great love and devotion to his family. Vincenzino was the beloved husband of the late Mariantonia Cotignola Imbrenda who passed away in 2015. He was the loving and devoted father of Addolorata Imbrenda & her husband Eduardo Gamez of Stoneham and Giusi Imbrenda & her husband Nelson Acosta of Burlington. She was the proud grandfather of Gabriel and Natalia Acosta of Burlington and Isabella and Giulia Gamez of Stoneham. Brother of Lucia Noto of VA and the late Donato Imbrenda. A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn Street in Burlington at noon.
