They don't make them like your husband, father, grandfather anymore. An inspiration on LIVING life. Am proud to have known such a man. He will be missed. Many blessings to you ALL.

Of my earliest memories, I remember Bill working beside my dad on occasional Saturdays. Neither considered this a day off from work, and I do not think they even considered this work. They enjoyed each other's company, friendship and respect. When I was young, my job was to get the mid-morning coffee or handle the water jug on a hot summer day. Bill was the first one to pull you into a conversation, to tell a story, and to say thank you -- even to the water boy! And as I grew up, and took on more responsibility, I learned more lessons of hard work and humility from both men.
Over the years, I would occasionally drive down Locust St. to visit Angela and look over to see if the garage door was open. Un-announced, he would welcome me with a strong handshake or a bearhug!! Bill was forever curious of others around him, and always willing to offer a helping hand.
I know Bill and my dad are up in heaven, working on the backhoe. Missing us, but enjoying each other's company.
God Bless,
Karl Ruping

A wonderful and amazing man. Loved his smile. Thinking of all during a very difficult time. He will always be present in the hearts of so many that loved him.

Dear McCafferty Family
Mr. McCafferty was a recurring customer at a diner I worked at in Burlington during the early 70's called The Red Robin.
He would order a toasted tuna sandwich about 3 times a week, so we nicknamed him "Toasted Tuna", of course...which he got a kick out of it.
He was such a sweet and kind man.
His story here was very interesting and portrayed a good man and wonderful life.
It fits the customer we knew back then who always had a big smile.
I'm very sorry for your loss,
Linda
