Family Remembrance by Michael My Dad and Mom asked me to put a Eulogy together for Grandpa today... As much of an honor this is to me, I’m not going to lie, this was not an easy task…Grandpa was a great man, who deserves a top notch eulogy by a top notch presenter… Grandpa was a mentor, a husband, an uncle, a brother and even a great grandfather. Grandpa was one of a kind…… Papa Eddie lived a life that was full of pride, joy and happiness. He took pride in his career as a Baker for over 50 years. For those who knew him, had the pleasure of not only eating the “greatest” pizza, the “best” biscotti’s and his “mediocre” pies, but you also learned his secrets of the dedication it took to be a great baker. … Papa’s greatest loves in life were Nana, his Sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his close friends. The times he spent with us, were the times that he treasured the most. … I have been fortunate to spend a lot of quality time with Papa... whether we were going to the track (betting $2 a race), raking leaves (until the grass was bare), prepping the garden (for the tomatoes he bragged about) or just sitting around living room (playing checkers). Some folks look at these times as mundane, but these are the times “I” will always cherish, and hold close. … Anyone who knew my Papa knows of his generosity, his work ethic, humility and selflessness. He demonstrated these traits again and again. … Whatever Grandpa was involved in, he made sure that it was done the right way. He never cut corners, and always made sure others were happy. People like my Grandfather are one in a million. … The support I have received from Grandpa throughout my 35 years has been truly amazing. I hope someday, I can measure up to all the examples he practiced through his life. … My nephew Kyle put it into perspective; he said to his Mother "e;why are you so sad, Papa is in heaven… with Nana, Yiayia and Papa Charlie… having fun, eating pizza and playing checkers"e;. … …………If only it was that easy for all of us. … So let us celebrate Papa’s life and continue his legacy. Thank you Papa, I love you, and will miss you! …
