Carolyn M. Crescio, 85 years old, passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning surrounded by loved ones. Carolyn was born and raised in Arlington to Ann and Michael Kolodziej. She graduated Arlington High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in teaching from Wheelock College. Carolyn married Joseph J. Crescio, her neighbor from across the street growing up. The couple united by the help of Joe’s sister, Lorraine, at a neighborhood New Year’s party. They married in 1957 and purchased a new home in Burlington to start their life together. Just like her parents, she had two sons and a daughter. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Melrose until she had her first child and then became a fulltime mother and homemaker. After her children were well settled in school, she returned to substitute teaching and also worked as a clerk in the housewares department of Jordan Marsh. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts, and playing bridge with her girlfriends. She enjoyed vacations from childhood through her adult life in Rutland, VT , the shores of Cape Cod, winters in Florida, the Islands of Bermuda, Nassau, Aruba and other Caribbean Islands.
